Vincent joined SEQVOIA last December as a Technical Project Manager after working for more than 6 years in the banking area as a Scrum Master. Here he tells us what he enjoys and likes!

      Where were you born?

I was born in Laxou, near Nancy. I grew up near Nancy, I made my studies in Nancy, and I left Nancy to get my first job. I’m proud to be a pure local product, born to work in Luxembourg!

What is special about the place you grew up?

I grew up for 20 years in the family house, in a small neighborhood where everyone knows each other and trusts each other. No need to say that it’s one of my big foundations, where I learnt many important things about living in a tight-knit community. I have billions of good memories there (and some bad, that’s life), I’m thankful to my parents for a so peaceful childhood. A good place to call “Home”.

How do you relax after a hard day of work?

I come back home, and I switch to another challenge: family! Children have that incredible power to make you forget all the burden of a hard day of work. They burst the bubble in which we lock ourselves and they take us back to what really matters. Being a dad is wonderful, and as it’s an exhausting role too I also enjoy the moment where everyone falls asleep. That’s my “Job done” moment of the day.

What fictional place would you most like to go?

I would love to go to Pandora, the world of Avatar from James Cameron. It would be so amazing to see such a rich and colorful nature with all living beings in perfect harmony. They communicate together and everyone knows how everyone feels. Each element has its own place and its own role in the symbiosis, acting to preserve the world balance. Such a level of collective consciousness makes me dream, as the world where we live seems to be moving away from it more and more…

There are two types of people in this world. What are the two types?

In English, we say “The early bird catches the worm”. I think there are the early birds, catching opportunities at the right time and moving ahead, and the others, looking at the world without being actor in its evolution. The world is going faster and faster and if you miss the train, you’re on your own on the station platform. I like the variant “You snooze, you lose”, same idea but more modern.

What is something that is considered a luxury, but you don’t think you could live without?

That’s an easy one: all my Apple devices! I have quite a lot at work and at home, and I have to admit that they are fully integrated to my life. I use them for many of my daily actions, it’s a very useful and efficient ecosystem when you combine them all together.

Who has impressed you most with what they have accomplished?

There are obviously many possible answers, the world is full of past, present and future great people. I will choose the Nobel Peace Prize Barack Obama, who acted (and is still acting) by many different ways to make the world a better place for all the human kind. And what a charismatic man!

What’s the best way to start the day?

Family time during breakfast with coffee, bread, butter and marmalade. If there’s sunlight, it’s all good!

What could you give a 40-minute presentation on with absolutely no preparation?

Board games are one of my hobbies, and I could literally talk about it for hours. From collaborative games to friendship-destructive games, with friends or children, there’s always a board game to have a good time. I like the strategic and tactical dimension, but also all human aspects such as teamwork, perseverance despite failure, and the will to win of course!

What do you like the most at SEQVOIA?

The feeling to belong to a company which give you what you need to succeed and do things right. With quick and pragmatic decisions, investment on expertise and long-term vision, SEQVOIA is an awesome place to do great things and I'm very happy to be a part of it.
